Gambling with Lives is a mission-driven charity supporting families bereaved by gambling-related suicide while working to prevent future harm. Founded on and led by lived experience, we provide compassionate, trauma-informed support, ensuring families are heard, understood, and not left to navigate loss alone.
Alongside direct support, we work to understand the circumstances surrounding gambling-related deaths, identifying missed opportunities for intervention and learning lessons to prevent future harm. We advocate for a robust public-health approach that recognises gambling as a population-level risk factor and addresses the disproportionate harms caused by the gambling industry’s most dangerous products and practices, including online gambling, high-intensity games, and targeted marketing. We also push for improved data collection, independent research, and a stronger evidence base on the links between gambling harm and suicide. Working collaboratively with local authorities, public health teams, and safeguarding partners, we influence policy and practice, to improve mental health and save lives.
