Since its inception in 2009, the Local Government Challenge was created to develop a new generation of local government leaders. Between January and May, 10 contestants tackled five real-life challenges in councils across the country. The programme is a unique learning and development opportunity but also a competition, with four finalists pitching their own project ideas to delegates and a panel of local government leaders to try and win a prestigious scholarship.
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in the Innovation Zone at 6.30pm on Wednesday 2 July.
