The Centre for Ageing Better is working to make our homes, workplaces, and communities suitable for us all as we get older, as well as challenging negative attitudes so that nobody is held back by ageism.
We run the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities. This is a growing movement of over 75 places across the country committed to making their community a better place to age. We support local authorities to adopt the World Health Organisation’s approach, to bring together the public, private and voluntary sectors alongside older people to shape the place that they live.
We are working to make homes warm and safe through a network of Good Home Hubs. These are easy to use, local one-stop shops that provide support on aids and adaptations, repairs, and energy efficiency. We work with partners across the country to showcase good practice and pilot new services and manage a network of over 60 local authorities working to tackle poor quality housing.
We are a charitable foundation and part of the UK government’s What Works Network.
