BBC Tiny Happy People was developed to meet a societal need, which means we are focused on reducing the number of children starting primary school without the expected levels of communication skills. By empowering parents / carers to develop their little ones’ vocabulary in the home learning environment during the early years, we’re working to help children fulfill their potential in school and beyond, and reduce the chances of long-term disadvantage.

BBC Tiny Happy People has been developed in close collaboration with experts in the fields of Speech & Language, Midwifery, Health Visiting and Early Years. All content is quality assured by experts who continue to work with us to ensure that our content is correct and follows best practice. We have strong relationships with The Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists, Institute of Health Visiting, DfE, UNICEF, as well as local authorities, family hubs and NHS trusts across the UK. We also work closely with academics from the University of Sheffield, University of Liverpool, University of Newcastle and University of Manchester.
